CPW WEEKS - SUMMER 2025!
CPW is a free home improvement program since 2017.
A letter from the Residential Chair

So, another season has come and gone for the CPW (Community Partner Week), a subcommittee of the VCB (Versailles Community Betterment), for those of you out there who are unfamiliar with this program, in January, the CPW Team partners up with the 3MT (Mid Missouri Mission Team), and starts planning for this one week, that happens usually at the end of June.
This was VCB/CPW’s 8th year of this program. This program is phenomenal. Serving God by serving our local community. We do this by assisting homeowners who may not be able to financially or physically maintain their home. Some of the services we have provided have been house/garage painting, de-weeding flower beds, providing mulch, gravel, tree trimming, brush removal, tree removal, some landscaping.
What is even better, is that almost all these services are free of charge- NO strings attached. There are some services that we provide at a discounted cost as well, and thanks to some of our local businesses and tradesmen, who graciously volunteer their labor.
We also take the opportunity to talk with the homeowners and witness to them and this year we were able to provide each a bible and devotional book. This year we had a total of 3 3MT crews (each crew had approx. 12-15 kids) that served Monday-Friday and 3 local crews that served various times throughout the week.
This year we were able to assist 17 homeowners, we did 2 projects to assist the city of Versailles, of which included, painting at the city pool, and pulling all the shrubs at Memorial Park. We worked at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in their courtyard and outside the perimeter of the entire building, and we painted the lower part of Love Light Coffee Shop.
The homeowners are so grateful when the crews are there and seeing what amazing things they accomplish while working at a site. Many of the homeowners have taken the time to write to us to let us know how happy they were and what a blessing this has been to them. One homeowner even said that, “she fell in love with her house all over again.” Now that’s good stuff.
We have also been very blessed to have the support of many of our local businesses and individuals alike. They show their support by donating to our program, be it monetarily, food, tools, items for fundraising, labor, volunteering their time as site leaders, and much much more. We are always looking for volunteers! This year we had over 70 people that graciously volunteered their time to help serve God by serving their community.
Some of our local churches get involved and show their support by being Host Churches. Different churches will feed lunch to all the kids and volunteers throughout the week. They also take time out of their busy schedules to drive the kids around from site to site and back and forth to their camp, which was held in Tipton at the Tipton Elementary School this year.
Although so much goes into that one week in June, that is not all that the VCB/CPW is involved with. This past year, we purchased some heaters, smoke alarms/detectors, and fans for some families in need. We also got to work with the school thru the JAG kids. They helped do some filing and painting, and other misc. jobs at the museum, they helped remove limbs from the cemetery, and they also went to several homes to paint, do yardwork and dewed flower beds. We participate in the city’s 4th of July celebration, held on July 3rd, where the last few years, we assisted with the train, the bouncy house, and of course, the Dunk Tank. We are doing so again this year. We are looking for volunteers for this year’s Dunk Tank still. So, if you are looking for a way to cool off and are willing to give just 15 minutes of your time to this, please contact, Dani Campbell at 573-569-3593 to set a scheduled time to do so! No, calling today is NOT too late. We can even schedule you for next year!
